"Thank you again for hosting Gateway Defense. As someone new to practical shooting as of March of this year, I really had some “ahh ha!” moments and light bulbs clicking on in my brain throughout both days of performance pistol. Brennan has a methodical and practical way of instructing. From the discussions and demonstrations to live fire, I was able to apply tools and techniques that I sort of understood at the time of taking this class. Seeing and hearing Brennan’s perspective really helped bring a lot of things home for me. I have a lot of work to do, and I feel after the two day performance pistol class I have more tools to continue my training effectively and productively. I really enjoyed that Andy with Rapid Defense was part of the class too. Having an owner of the company hosting the event learning and training alongside us was inspiring. From mechanics, engineers, insurance dude, fitness instructor, and a couple LE guys, we all learned together and made significant improvements over the 2 day course. Most importantly it was a lot of challenging fun and done in a professional and safe manner."

"My wife and I really enjoyed the class. The class met our expectations; both of us saw demonstrable improvement and left with several takeaways to become better shooters.

I liked the flow of the class and the items covered. Good diagnostics, Adrian was quick to identify deficiencies and help correct them. We appreciated the opportunities to get in enough reps to help know what good is and get enough foundation to leave with a sense of how to replicate for consistency. While there is a lot more I would like to get feedback and tips on, I wouldn’t want to try to jam more in and the expense of time to practice it.

Adrian’s style of teaching is perfect for us. Great balance of explaining, showing and coaching. We got the 1:1 instruction we were both looking for as well as lots of other good information in a manner conducive to learning and retaining.

I can’t say enough how much I have enjoyed all the RD training. All your trainers are not only subject matter experts but great teachers. Most other classes I/we have taken regarding first aid and firearms were run by people with varying skill, oversized egos, and little ability to teach, especially to women. Keep up the high standards for your partners!"

My zero was off by an inch and fixing that off right away was great. The day flew by and well paced. I really liked how the class was structured in that we spent the morning really grinding out drills and some higher round count sessions then spent the afternoon doing some more dynamic shooting. This whole series of classes has given me the the right idea of how to tweak and change my rifle setup to properly suit my needs. "I wanted to take a moment to say thanks to Rapid Defense for being such a great company. Everyone is so friendly, approachable, welcoming, patience, etc etc.

I got a handgun and rifle in 2020. Shot them at an indoor range a couple times, and that was it. It wasnt till Oct of 2024 that I took a concealed handgun class (with RD). I was very nervous, but Craig and John were great trainers. Even with my dad who went with me and struggled at times in the class, they were the perfect amount accomodating, paitence, ensuring safety, and having fun. The gun world was open to me because of Rapid Defense. It wasn't scary anymore, it was something I knew i needed to learn; something i could have fun with, and develop an important skill at the same time.

This experience continued into RD's medical training class in early Dec 2024, where I was blown away on how much I learned. I will probably take that class regularly to stay sharp.

Then seeing the annual Night Fighters event, I decided there would actually be an opportunity to use night vision so I decided to get a device. That was my first time using a rifle in a matchish type scenario. It was a struggle, but everyone was so friendly and patient yet again, actually wanting to help me learn and get better.

It's been about 1 year and I feel like I've learned a lifetime and yet there's still so much more. I could not have done any of this without Rapid Defense, Andy, Ben, Craig, Adrian, the other trainers, and even others in the community I've met along the way.

A seriously big thank you, from the bottom of my heart, you all are truly living your mission statement in making more people equipped in defending life and liberty. You are a beacon in the community.

I like that he explained why he prefers to zero at 50 yards versus 100 yards. Explaining how to use your BDC. Really great that he was flexible enough to help students who only had red dots on their rifles. It feels great that by the end of the day I could hit a steel plate out to 400 yards. Also thought that it was outstanding that he did not assume that all of the students had fired their AR- 15. Since it was an intro class he treated it as such and explaining how to load and clear your rifle I thought was just a good idea in case we had shooters who lack that experience. My only regret now is not having signed up sooner for the intermediate carbine class. Thanks again Andy. I have already signed up for two more classes!"

"I found the long distance class information very useful. Building the real-world data confirmation with shooting steel targets at 200, 300, 400, 500, and 540 yards was a huge confidence booster. It allowed me to check the data that Strelok [ballistics calculator] was providing. At the end of the day, I was satisfied with the shooting I had done.

The whole day of testing and building shooting data was highly productive. If I had to do it over again, I would've selected a round other than 55 grain bulk ammo to run. However I still found the exercise immensely useful and did get a proper zero and hold data for a very common and available ammunition type. The zeroing clinic at the start of the class was very helpful. Getting chrono data was great. Light indicators on steel were a huge help, as well as the spotting scopes that were available."

The instructor and support staff were positive and incredibly helpful and patient, and it was clear that everyone’s safety came first above all else. After each portion, the  instructor and support staff went over everyone’s results and we were each given praise when we did well as well as suggestions for how to improve when needed. It’s been so long since I’ve even handled a rifle, I was worried that I would shoot poorly or hold the group up. But the goal of the class was for each student to focus on the fundamentals and improve no matter what level we started at. They made sure everyone went at their own pace and I didn’t feel rushed at all. I felt great about my progress (and even tied the instructor in one of the competitions). By the time we were done, it felt like we had only been there for a few hours rather than most of the day.
